Logistics Projects
AMS is always interested in new projects -
whether at the concept stage or the stage of practical
implementation on the ground.
Multimodal insurance projects
Peter Astbury was part of the concept team and subsequently responsible for
the management of a project to handle all of the cargo
claims of a leading international multimodal and logistics operator at the
point of presentation any where in the world. He was part of another
concept team that looked at new insurance solutions for multimodal
operators including seamless covers such as. insurances which seek to cover the entire scope
of a multimodal carrier's operating liabilities - ship operating, terminals, trucking, rail, barge, warehousing, inventory
management, 'Just in time' commitments and so on - under a single policy.
Port and local logistic and infra
structure audits.
AMS has been on the ground investigating rail, barge and trucking
practicalities and potentials in post- Saddam Hussein Iraq and
performed a detailed audit of Mogadishu port infrastructure and management.
AMS has good contacts in the logistics industry in Pakistan
- an industry which is likely to enjoy exponential growth if peace of a sort
continues to break out in the area. Pakistan is presently experiencing an
export boom. It remains one of the key historical gateways to
Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics. It is the natural point of
entry for aid cargoes flooding into Afghanistan and this trade will increase
as and when commercial traffic takes over.
The Pakistan logistics industry will also benefit if/when the border between
Pakistan and India re-opens to reciprocal cargo transit. Karachi will
then become a natural gateway for much of north and north west India.
Opening the border will also make the much-planned Asia /
Europe highway a practical possibility.
AMS is well placed to help clients explore all these exciting prospects.
